JHG wines are created in the heart of Swellendam on their farm situated on the most southern tip of the Robertson Wine valley along the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains where they produce it in small batches.
Their unique position borders with the dry conditions of the Karoo as well as the cool sea breezes from the Coastal Regions and therefore, the direction of their vineyard planting runs from East to West. The JHG philosophy is to create delicious single-block wines – the smallest production unit for vineyards that may not exceed six hectares per cultivar.

This is Pinotage in modern mode - a juicy mouthful of fragrant, ripe blackberries and blackcurrants with a whiff of oak spice as an attractive extra. Enjoyable drinking now thanks to the sweet, succulent fruit, the variety’s dense, resonant though well-integrated tannins add welcome structure and some future potential.
